Naperville Ribfest Goes Whole Hog With A New Look – And A Fun New Mascot.

With a goal of increasing Ribfest profits and awareness year-round, Next Level’s first order of business was bringing the website up-to-date. This included simplifying the site’s navigation, incorporating interactive flash elements and effectively communicating the true essence of the event.

It was important that visitors understood that a majority of Ribfest proceeds go to help abused children. We also wanted to make it as easy as possible for visitors to find information about the event – the bands, the food, the events and the sponsors. Next Level delivered on this promise, giving Ribfest a new look and identity that is playful and fun – and that extends beyond the 4th of July holiday.

In addition to re-designing and developing the website, Next Level designed a new mascot and merchandise specifically for the Ribfest. The power of mascots or characters to increase sales and brand awareness has been proven time and again. Within three years of the M&M character launch, sales were up $250 million! Next Level wanted to provide the same return on investment, albeit on a smaller scale, to the Naperville Exchange Club.

Mascot Development
Next Level spent months creating an enduring, likeable mascot that captures the spirit of the celebration. The Ribfest pig has been incorporated into merchandise such as t-shirts, aprons and hats that can be purchased at the event.  This not only meets the Naperville Exchange Club’s goal of making Ribfest more memorable and profitable, it provides an additional profits to a very worthy cause.  

Marketing materials, such as advertising and posters for Ribfest, were donated by Next Level. Doing work pro bono allows Next Level to give back to a cause and community we really believe in. We look forward to seeing the Ribfest mascot evolve into a timeless, dynamic personality for the city of Naperville.”
